Thompson Twins LP Records and CDs
Thompson Twins were an English pop band from Sheffield, formed in 1977. Starting out with a new wave style, they shifted to mainstream pop and rose to international fame during the early and mid-1980s with a series of chart hits in both the UK and the US. Their classic lineup as a trio became especially well known during this period. The group was a notable part of the Second British Invasion in America and performed at Live Aid in 1985 with Madonna. Inspired by the detectives Thomson and Thompson from Tintin, their name reflected a playful spirit. In 1993, they changed their name to Babble, moving toward a more experimental, dub-influenced sound, before disbanding in 1996.
