Korg Pa5X-88: Professional Arranger with Piano Feel and Unmatched Flexibility

The Korg Pa5X-88 combines the authentic touch of a hammer-action keyboard with an advanced arranger workstation, ideal for demanding performers, studio musicians, and composers. The Pa5X-88 is a high-end 88-key model equipped with aftertouch, offering players not just expressive piano action but powerful creative control. Built for versatility, this instrument integrates seamlessly into live, studio, and hybrid production setups. For solo arrangements or leading a full band, the Pa5X-88 supplies a comprehensive sonic palette, flexible real-time controls, and the connectivity required for modern music-making.

Flagship Innovations and Unique Design Elements

What distinguishes this model is its EDS-XP sound engine, which powers over 2,200 factory sounds and more than 130 drum kits, all accessible via a large, adjustable 8” TouchView display. Notably, the patented dual crossfading players allow for blending MIDI, MP3, and style accompaniments in real time—a feature exclusive to the Pa5X line. The robust aluminum chassis and genuine wooden side panels reinforce both elegance and durability at this level.

Performance Power: Keyboard, Polyphony, and Sound Engine

Professional arrangers demand precision and expressive range from their instrument. With hammer action and aftertouch, nuanced dynamics are at your fingertips, while 160-note polyphony ensures even the most complex layers remain articulate. The EDS-XP engine incorporates advanced features like round-robin drum sampling and Defined Nuance Control (DNC) for lifelike articulation and realism.

• Polyphony: 160 voices — enables dense, multilayered arrangements without note stealing
• Expressive playing is enhanced by the hammer action keyboard with aftertouch, supporting phrasing from delicate pianissimo to bold fortissimo.
• Sound Engine: EDS-XP — provides expansive sound selection and deep programmability

Inputs and Outputs: Seamless Integration on Stage and in Studio

Connectivity is critical for professional setups. The Pa5X-88 supplies a full suite of analog, digital, and MIDI connections, supporting everything from microphones and guitars to external controllers and displays. HDMI out allows real-time lyric and score projection, while balanced XLR/TRS, jack, and USB ports guarantee compatibility with modern audio gear.

• Thanks to a wide range of inputs—Jack 6.3 mm TS, USB, USB B, Pedal, Balanced XLR/TRS, Jack 3.5 mm TRS, MIDI IN—you can plug in microphones, instruments, pedals, and MIDI devices with ease.
• Outputs: HDMI, Jack 6.3 mm TRS, MIDI OUT, MIDI Thru — supports audio, visual, and data integration

Advanced Workflow and Real-Time Control

Streamlined performance is at the core of the Pa5X-88. Real-time assignable buttons, sliders, and a matrix pad grid provide intuitive access to mixing, effects, and instrument switching. The color-driven interface, large touch screen, and programmable SongBook database enhance live navigation and allow instant recall of sounds, styles, and user sets.

• Assignable controllers, joystick, and ribbon support hands-on modulation and articulation
• SongBook and Set Lists allow for quick recall of custom setups in live environments
• Creative flexibility expands with onboard effects and vocal/guitar processing, catering to solo performers and bands alike.
