Vox Pathfinder 10 Bass — Compact 10 W Combo with Classic VOX Character

The Vox Pathfinder 10 Bass delivers the instantly recognizable VOX look and warm British voicing in a small, portable 10-watt bass combo. Built around an all-analog solid-state circuit, this little amp targets bassists who want a no-fuss rig for bedroom practice or jam sessions. This model is the right choice for players who need a grab-and-go bass amp with genuine heritage tone.

What Sets This Combo Apart

What makes this combo stand out is the pairing of dual 5" Vox Bulldog speakers with a Bright switch and a dedicated Drive control — features rarely combined at this size. All-analog solid-state circuitry keeps the signal path simple, while chicken-head knobs, basket-weave leather-look covering, and diamond grille cloth reproduce the legendary VOX aesthetic.

Power and Circuit Design

How an amp performs at bedroom volumes and responds when pushed comes down to its power rating and circuit topology.

• Output Power: 10 W RMS at 4 Ohms — enough headroom for quiet rehearsal spaces
• Circuitry: Solid-state, all-analog signal path — predictable response with no tube maintenance
• Plug-and-play operation is possible via the fixed AC power cord—no batteries needed.

Speakers and Voicing

It is uncommon to find a dual-driver setup in such a compact combo, and the two Bulldog cones move more air than a single speaker.

• Speaker Configuration: 2 x 5" Vox Bulldog drivers — dual-cone layout delivers deeper, fuller bass
• With the Bright Switch, you can add edgy upper-harmonic bite for slap and pick styles, making it versatile for modern players.
• Drive Control: Variable overdrive — dials in warm bass distortion for character

Controls and Connectivity

Top-mounted chicken-head knobs enable fast adjustments, while rear-panel output covers practice and recording.

• Top-Panel Controls: Bass, Treble, Bright, Drive, Volume — straightforward analog EQ plus overdrive
• Inputs: 1 x Normal Input Jack — standard 1/4" instrument input
• Headphone/Line Out jack — supports silent practice and direct recording

Who This Amp Is Built For

This combo suits beginner and intermediate bassists looking for a stylish, easy-to-use practice amp with the authentic VOX flavor. Bedroom players will appreciate the headphone/line output for silent late-night sessions, while the Bright switch and Drive control offer enough tonal range for slap, pick, and gritty rock tones. At 5.6 kg and 380 x 170 x 277 mm, moving it from room to room is a breeze.

The VOX Heritage Behind the Pathfinder Series

VOX has shaped British amp tone since the 1950s, with The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, and Radiohead all part of the VOX story. Pathfinder amps carry on this legacy in a compact format, and the Bass 10 expands the family with dedicated bass voicing and the distinctive diamond-grille look that has defined the brand for decades.
