The ESI M8U eX is a USB 3.0 multi-port MIDI interface that delivers 16 fully configurable MIDI ports in a single desktop chassis, replacing traditional 8-in/8-out boxes with a far more flexible routing model. Each of the 16 ports can act as either a MIDI input or a MIDI output, and the unit's automatic detection assigns direction on the fly — a green LED marks an input, red signals an output. For setups running hardware synths, drum machines, and groove boxes, this interface consolidates DIN-MIDI connectivity, USB expansion, and standalone routing into one box.
