Focusrite Scarlett 16i16 4th Gen — Studio Hub for Producers

The Focusrite Scarlett 16i16 4th Gen is a desktop USB audio interface built as a portable studio hub for producers. Sixteen inputs and sixteen outputs route through 24-bit/192 kHz converters from the flagship RedNet range, delivering 122 dB of dynamic range. Two 4th Gen mic preamps offer 69 dB of clean gain. This model suits producers who need flagship-grade conversion, dual headphone monitoring, and full digital expandability in a bus-powered unit.

What Sets It Apart

Smaller Scarlett units stop at basic I/O, but this model adds ADAT, S/PDIF, and MIDI I/O. Auto Gain sets levels automatically; Clip Safe adjusts gain to prevent distortion. Two Air modes — Presence and Harmonic Drive — emulate classic console character.

Preamps and Conversion

The 4th Gen preamps deliver the lowest noise floor Focusrite has shipped in a Scarlett. Independent 48 V phantom power handles mixed mic setups without compromise.

• Phantom Power: Yes (Independent) — per-channel switching
• A/D Resolution: 24-bit / 192 kHz — RedNet-derived, 122 dB dynamic range

I/O and Connectivity

ADAT adds eight more channels at 44.1/48 kHz, S/PDIF adds two more, and MIDI I/O keeps legacy controllers connected.

• Number of Channels: 16 in / 16 out — plus Loopback for streaming
• ADAT: Yes (1 in, 1 out) — 8 channels at standard rates
