Kali Audio IN 5 Aktīvs studijas monitors 1 gab.
The Kali Audio IN-5 is a 3-way powered studio monitor combining a 5-inch paper woofer with a 4-inch coaxial midrange and 1-inch textile dome tweeter arranged as a single point source. Tri-amped Class D amplification supplies 160 W over three dedicated channels, delivering 39 Hz to 25 kHz with striking stereo imaging.
- Coaxial midrange and tweeter radiate together for precise stereo positioning
- Three-way design lets each driver focus on a limited frequency range, lowering distortion
- Dip switches for boundary compensation adapt output for placement on a desk, near a wall, or on a console
- Connects to almost any audio interface or mixer thanks to XLR, 6.3 mm TRS, and RCA inputs
Kali Audio IN-5 3-Way Studio Monitor — Point-Source Precision for Mixing
Accurate three-way monitoring typically demands large cabinets and high budgets. The IN-5 challenges that assumption with a coaxial midrange-and-tweeter assembly above a 5-inch woofer, functioning as a point source radiating all frequencies from a single spatial origin. During busy mix sessions, panned instruments remain locked in position for stable imaging. Kali Audio developed the IN-Series as part of Project Independence, designed by former JBL engineers who founded the brand in 2018. This model delivers 160 W of tri-amped Class D power with internal DSP for crossover management, limiting, and boundary compensation.
Coaxial Architecture with Dedicated Midrange
At the heart of the monitor is a 4-inch paper midrange with an integrated 1-inch textile dome tweeter, using the mid cone as a waveguide. Off-axis lobing, common in traditional two-way designs, is eliminated here. Below 280 Hz, the woofer takes over, while the midrange handles up to 2,800 Hz before passing to the tweeter. A front-firing port allows for flexible wall placement without muddying bass response.
Driver Roles and Extended Bass Reach
Specialized drivers share the acoustic workload in a three-way setup, so intermodulation distortion drops and headroom increases at both low and high ends.
- Low-Frequency Driver: 127 mm paper woofer — its dedicated 80 W channel delivers bass down to 39 Hz at -10 dB
- Midrange reproduction is assigned to a 102 mm optimized-profile paper cone, covering 280 Hz to 2,800 Hz with its own 40 W amplifier for clarity in vocals and instruments, undisturbed by woofer movement.
- High-Frequency Driver: 25 mm textile dome — extends to 25 kHz via a 40 W channel for crisp transient details
Tri-Amped Power and DSP-Based Protection
Each driver gets its own amplifier, avoiding passive crossover losses. DSP manages the crossover and applies limiting for safe, distortion-free operation at high levels.
- Total Power: 160 W (80 W + 40 W + 40 W) — each band receives clean, independent power thanks to the Class D topology
- Maximum SPL: 115 dB — ideal for nearfield and small control rooms at standard mixing levels
- Maintaining clarity across the range is ensured by system THD of < 2% at 85 dB @ 1 m.
Adaptable Placement and Versatile Inputs
Choose from preset boundary compensation options using rear-panel dip switches—no external measurement tools required. The enclosure supports horizontal placement beneath video displays, keeping tweeter alignment correct.
- Inputs: XLR, 6.3 mm TRS, and RCA — compatible with professional and consumer audio sources
- Use DSP-based dip switch EQ to adapt frequency response for free-field, wall-adjacent, or console-mounted setups.
- Recommended Listening Distance: 0.5 to 3 meters
For Project Studios and Immersive Audio Workflows
Producers working in treated home studios benefit from monitors that reveal, rather than conceal, mix issues. The point-source coaxial design is especially useful for immersive formats like Dolby Atmos, where off-axis consistency matters for accurate 3D soundfield placement. Post-production engineers and content creators who need trustworthy translation will notice that the three-way structure exposes frequency problems masked by simpler monitors.
Kali Audio — JBL Engineering Heritage
Established in 2018 by engineers from JBL, Kali Audio leveraged years of loudspeaker design to create its own name. The LP-6 and LP-8 earned a reputation for performance once limited to pricier monitors. Project Independence followed, bringing new refinements to the next generation. Independent tests confirmed the strong bass extension and wide soundstage capabilities.
