Hainbach — Landfill Totems by Spitfire Audio is a unique and evocative sound library born from an extraordinary artistic collaboration. Originally a performance installation at Berlin's PNDT Gallery, the project expanded into a full album and a comprehensive sound library recorded at Patch Point Studios, Berlin.

This project features sounds crafted from vintage test equipment salvaged from nuclear research labs and scrap heaps, reimagined as musical instruments by the Berlin-based composer and experimental electronics pioneer, Hainbach. These machines, assembled into monolithic totem-like towers, generate a wide spectrum of tones, from eerie morse code bleeps and communication signals to deep drones and industrial drum hits.

The library contains 40 presets divided into four sections:

• Kling: A collection of presets combining elements from all sections, offering a diverse range of textures accessible via mod wheel.
• Klang: Tonal sounds including evolving pads and pulsating drones.
• Knarz: Atonal, textural, and FX-style sounds, spanning watery to alien-like timbres.
• Krach: Percussion, drum hits, and time-machine loops and patterns.

Each preset features built-in effects and controls such as Attack, Release, Reverb, Delay, Stretch, and Distort, enabling extensive sound manipulation. Velocity sensitivity and a Dynamics fader add further expressive possibilities, allowing users to sculpt sounds that range from subtle nuances to intense textures.

This versatile library is perfect for composers, sound designers, and producers seeking high-contrast atmospheres filled with suspense, tension, and beauty. It's particularly suited for genres like techno, ambient music, and cinematic scoring.
