Gibson Les Paul Classic Heritage Cherry Sunburst

Modern Collection

Electric guitar from Gibson. The Gibson Les Paul Classic combines the early 60's style Les Paul model with some functional and time-tested modifications. As expected, the LP Classic is crafted with a mahogany back and maple top coupled with a slim taper mahogany neck and bound, rosewood fingerboard. Burstbucker 61R and 61T zebra, open-coil pickups provide classic Gibson tones from the era with a bit of extra punch thanks to the open coils.

A csomagból hiányzott a blank trussrod cover. A doboz fel volt bontva és utőlag átlátszó ragasztóstalaggal visszazárva. Miért?!

Everything and More - I was a little skeptical about buying the classic over the 50s Standard with all the technology what with the coil splitting and out of phase etc. and it not being a 'pure' Les Paul. But honestly I was pleasantly surprised. Firstly superb, service from Muziker, great communication and lightening fast delivery - absolutely faultless. The Guitar arrived very well packed and protected - First Class guys! First impressions on unpacking the guitar, where wow - I absolutely love the Honey Burst colour, really shows off the wood grain and have to admit I'm a sucker for Zebra humbuckers and I love the fact they are not covered. It was nicely set up out of the box the action was really good just a slight tune and it was ready to rock. The neck is not to thick and has a slim taper and a gorgeous feel. Then it was time to plug this baby in and thats where the second wow came. The sound, the tone, nothing quite like it - the neck pickup alone is worth every penny - with seemingly endless sustain, without a doubt the best neck sound from any of my guitars, even compared to my PRS CE 24! and thats saying something. Using it as a 'Normal' Les Paul without all the coil split and funky out of phase gubbins it was simply amazing and everything I expected. Crank the gain up and watch your amp walk towards you! Next it was time to have a play the Coil splits and have to admit they where better than expected, both bridge and neck give nice soft warm tone particularly when clean, not so much when gained up but thats what the full humbuckers are for! It's never going to sound like a Strat or Tele and personally I think PRS does a better job with their coil splitting but the tones are still unique and perfectly usable. What I found more useful is the out of phase in the middle position, it's got that kinda funky Peter Green vibe, I really like it. The true bypass which switches on the bridge Humbucker at full power seems to give a bit of a boost, louder than just selecting the pickup itself - great for solos or just trying to cut through some of background instruments. If I had to choose one downside, and it's not even a downside - I know it's weight relieved but it's still quite hefty! while you don't need to up the spinach intake just to play it, you will need a sturdy Strap. So overall it's a gorgeous Les Paul, I love the colour, love the wood grain, it's nice to know I have the electronic wizardry there on tap should I need it and that neck pickup sound, ah man it's sublime and like I said it's worth the money alone for just that - plus if there's ever another lock down and the gym closes temporarily you've the added bonus of your own personal barbell - I love it to bits!
